Pansy looked up from the spell book as Draco walked into the small, dirty room they shared. His eyes were barely open and his shoulders sagged as though he carried the weight of the world on them. He took a seat beside her and for a minute he was silent.
"Pansy," he began, "we made a mistake."
Pansy sighed, expecting Draco to go on about how it was foolish of her to track him down, and how he was even worse for letting her stay. "Draco," she spoke carefully, not wanting to anger him.
Draco smiled, and his eyes crinkled slightly. "I love, Pansy," he said in a soft voice. "I love more than anything and anybody in this world."
Pansy smiled. "I know, Draco," she said, reaching out to him. She gasped a small "oh" as he pulled her into a desperate hug. "Draco...what is it?"
We were such fools.
Draco pulled back, and Pansy frowned at the tears that fell from his eyes uncontrollably. "It's okay, Draco. We're okay."
Draco smiled. A broken, tired smiled. He stood up quickly as though he had finally made a decision that required days of thought. "I have something for you.," He said. "For us, really."
Pansy looked up at him skeptically. They weren't in a position to buy things. They couldn't afford surprises. But with a small smile she asked, "What?"
"It's a surprise. Close your eyes, Panse."
Pansy closed her eyes and held out her hand. She nearly opened them when she felt him take one of her hands and stand her up. His hand tightened around hers, and he brought it to his chest. To his heart. He smiled.
With his other hand, Draco took out his wand. His hand shook slightly, and he willed it to stop with no avail. With another smile, he thought the encantation that would free them both. He guided Pansy into his arms, and he felt her smile against his shoulder.
In less than a minute, a green light engulfed them both, and Pansy a Draco were no more.
I love you, Pansy
I love you too, Draco. More than anything.
